I served aboard the USS Sampson in 1963. She was of the Charles F. Adams Class of guided missile destroyer commissioned in June 1961 and decommissioned in June 1991. In keeping with the upcoming reunion of Sampson shipmates, I decided to model this ship in the popular 1/700 scale, and chronicle the steps taken to a finished product.
